The English-Chinese Parody is active in daily languageperformance. In modern or ancient times, China or western countries,widely welcomed by the majority of language users, parody slips into everyaspects of life:daily expressions, leisure and entertainment, newspapersand magazines,literary works, political speeches, commercialadvertisement, and thus attracts great attention which cannot beunderestimated. Parody uphold the existing language forms, according theneed of expression to create new forms of utterances, and incorporate itinto their own language system to convey new concepts, newconnotations,and new ideas.In earlier times, parody attracted academic attention and triggeredfurther discussion. Traditionally, parody is confined to rhetoric posit.In recent years, with the development of cognitive linguistics, cognitiveelements within rhetoric has gradually recognized by scholars. Parody,as a common language phenomenon, essentially reflects the thinkingmechanism of human cognition. The thesis, in the perspective of cognitivelinguistics,aims at probing inner generation mechanism of parody andexploring the differences between English-Chinese parody motivated bycultural divergence.Based on description and explanation,theoryspecified with examples, the thesis setting its view on cognitive horizon,examining the similarities and differences of English-Chinese parody,tries to explore the internal mechanism of parody,and deepen thescientific undersdanding of it.
