Facing the trend of globalization, cultural soft power has become significant to thedeveloping China. Therefore, translation plays an important role during the culturalcommunication.The author of this report translated the Second Chapter and the Third Chapter.Afterwards, the problems that have occurred during the translation process are analyzedand categorized. There are eight categories in total: translation of the official position,colloquial use, idioms, culture-loaded words,竟然and居然, quotation, longsentences and irony. The author illustrates each category with examples, trying to findout the most suitable translation. In the last part of this report, the author summarizes theexperience gained from the translation, reflects on the shortcomings. Hopefully thiswould give some enlightenment on the future translation.The point of this article is that, through the whole process of translation, the authorcategorizes the most common and the most difficulty problems and puts forward his ownsolution. Besides, the author finds out that the most significant rule in translating suchhalf-academic and half-popular articles is to put the readers first. How to make the readergain more information with certain amount of time is what should be concerned most.Hopefully, this report would help with future translation and research in a certain way.
