From90s of last century, the novels of the distinguished new immigrant writer YanGeling, beyond the creation manner of “personality”, begin to illustrate the meaning of theOriental culture. This text re-studies the works of Yan Geling, according to her creationhistory, and try to show the meaning of the Oriental culture in her works and explore thechosen of Chinese instincts from her perspective, her opinions on women and codes ofmorality, eventually map out a plan of her ideal Oriental culture. In this paper,I will divide the Yan’s works from90s of last century into three parts.suchas:the maternal instinct of eastern civilization in traveller’s mind;the self-discription of ourhumble country in revenant’s eyes;the concept of harmonious eastern civilization in angelheart. From “praise”to “satirize”for eastern civilization and “hostility”to “friendly”on bothsides of the war, I will seek her transformation in creation idea, explore her intention courseon eastern civilization and speculate about her congcept idea of“harmonious easterncivilization and virtuous moral code”.Ultimately,in the conclution chapter,I argue that: Yan Geling’s works complete thereconstitution of female views in eastern civilization. This view is based on the MadameJierman’s female theory–“respect the feminine characteristic, advocate the maternalinstincts”, to extol Chinese traditional national culture. Her novels are full of nique faminism. At the same time, her novels’ ideological content contain “the spirit redemption” stem fromwestern humanitarism and Taoist school’s wisdom from eastern civilization. Consequently,Yan Geling’s works selectively absorb the influence of western culture, partly abide by theeastern civilizational peculiarity, form a kind of unique eternal cultural interpretation.
