The Study On The Tanaka Kodaro’s Translation Of Liao Zhai Zhi Yi

Tanaka Kodaro (1880-1941), who had crossed Japanese Meiji, Taisho, Showa three historical periods, is a well-known novelist,essayist,and popular writer, created a great number of the Kaidan class works that appealed to readers. At the same time, he had been fond of the Chinese supernatural legend literary tales.had translated Liao Zhai Zhi Yi and so on. His translation is faithful to the original, and easy to read, using a variety of translation strategies to meet the reading needs of the general public. What’s more, there is personalized art feature in it. So it was welcomed by the general readers, greatly improving the popularity of Liao Zhai Zhi Yi and promoting its wide spread in Japan. In addition,reading and translating of Liao Zhai Zhi Yi also impacted his own Kaidan class creativity. In this paper, it is based on theory and research methods of translation studies and comparative literature to be a case study of Tanaka Kodaro’s translation activities, in order to explore his cultural handle and popularized manage as well as reflected the time characteristics and the aesthetic traditions in the process of translation, and secularization processing, aiming to provide a typical example for the further study on the regular of the literary interchange between China and Japan.This paper is divided into five parts, which include three chapters in text.The introduction:Mainly for making arrange and summary about general situation and development process of Japanese translations of Liao Zhai Zhi Yi.
