Emotion, emotion regulation and memory have been a hot issue in the research ofemotion regulation in recent years. Emotion regulation is a process of individual managementand emotional adjustment. Emotion regulation strategy is to control and regulate emotioneffectively and make the emotion reach the best state. The emotion of high school students, which is unstable and has polar characteristics, is rich and profound. Meanwhile, high schoolstudents are mainly to learn knowledge, and there is important practical significance on thestudy of its in different emotional states, how to conduct effective emotion regulation andimprove memory efficiency. The research is divided into two studies. One is discussed the effect of emotion onneutral materials memory by different valance (positive, negative), different arousal (higharousal, low arousal) emotion. On the basis of this study, the other is discussed differenteffects of emotional regulation strategies on neutral material memory at positive high arousalemotions and negative high arousal emotions. Experiment is used by3x2factors-mixeddesigns. The variable of between groups is the type of strategies: the simple watch group, cognitive reappraisal group, expression inhibition group. The variable of within group is thetype of emotion: Positive high arousal emotion and negative high arousal emotion. The resultsshow that:(1) The factors of emotional valence have no significant effect on memory. The factorsof emotional arousal have significant impact on memory. High arousal emotions group waslowest memory performance, and low arousal emotions results are slightly better than neutralemotion group.(2) In the positive high arousal emotions, the memory results of cognitive reappraisal andexpression inhibition group are significantly better than the simple watch group. Cognitivereappraisal and expression inhibition of these two kinds of emotion regulation strategies canbe good to reduce the emotion on memory impairment.(3) In the negative high arousal emotions, the results of cognitive reappraisal grouprecognition performance are significantly higher than simple watch group and expression suppression group. Cognitive reappraisal is an effective emotion regulates strategy to reduceemotional feelings on memory damage.
