The Sociolinguistics Investigation On Ancient Voiced Onsets Words Of Wuning Hua In The Gan Dialect

There is a piece of voiced sound distribution zone across the Mufu mountain in the border of Hunan, Hubei, Jiangxi province, which links the Gan dialect, Xiang dialect and Wu dialect together. The voiced sound distribution zone is of great academic value in the sphere of study Chinese history, dialect contact and fusion, experimental phonetics and so on. Wuning, a county of Jiangxi province, is just in the voiced sound distribution and previous studies show that various types of voiced sound are passed down from ancient time.With the application of the latest dialect survey software--Feifeng, field research methods are used to define Wuning dialect sound system and traditional dialectology methods are applied to describe the sound, rhyme, tone system of Wuning dialect. Then, sociolinguistics massive research methods are applied to obtain the first-hand information about the today’s pronunciation of ancient full voiced consonant as designed in advance. And the information are classified and coded, combined with social variables, and then analysised in the perspective of statistic. Finally, professional recording equipment are used to collect part of materials of today’s pronunciation of ancient full voiced consonant which will be researched in experimental phonetics way.As can be seen from the results of sociolinguistics survey, there is phenomena of voiced sound in the ancient full voiced consonant of Wuning dialect, which can be divided into aspirated unvoiced sound and non-aspirated unvoiced sound. Though a few voiced sound are passed down, it covers a quarter of Wuning dialect speakers, which cannot be neglected. However, it is witnessed that the ancient full voiced sound of Wuning dialect is experiencing the unvoiced process,mainly non-aspirated unvoiced process, some of which is even same to that of Putonghua. Career and education play an important role in the types of today’s pronunciation of ancient full voiced sound. Compared with the little influence of age and upon types of today’s pronunciation of ancient full voiced sound, the places of birth is a factor in the pronunciation of ancient full voiced sound.The results of experimental phonetics are different from the survey of traditional field survey, the types of voiced and unvoiced sound researched in this sociolinguistics investigation and language sense cognition of locals. In addition, it cannot be proved to tell the opposition of voiced and unvoiced sound in the investigation, as well as the difference of language sense cognition upon voiced and unvoiced sound of locals, with the methods of experimental phonetics.
