Origin Of Augustin’s Aesthetics

In our country,besides the history of philosophy and some Treatises,there has been some Doctoral thesis and master’s thesis discusses the Aesthetic Thought of Augustine. However,their study only limited to the Christian philosophy,or limited to a general discussion of the history of philosophy.There is little research concerning from an aesthetic point of view,and go with the relationship between the classical culture and the Augustine aesthetic.This text Start from the concept of the word "aesthetics",and try to explore the relationship between the aesthetics,philosophy and art.Then,we trying to sort out the links from Augustine aesthetic thought and Plato’s classical aesthetic ideology, to show the history of the development of aesthetic concepts.Finally, we analyze the major aesthetic ideology of Augustine,such an analysis is not only used a speculative philosophical discussion, but also try a hermeneutic method.The article is divided into three parts:the first part is mainly to delineate the significance of various name, to avoid disorientation when we get into the specific ideas, the conclusion is that the aesthetics,philosophy and arts are intertwined with each other, but in order to discuss we must make a distinction,we aslo think that the aesthetic is a skill. The second part traces the source of aesthetic Thought of Augustine,we think the direct source is Plato and then we traced back to the pre-Socratic philosophers, they established the basic ideas of aesthetics, such as order, harmony, etc. The third part,we start from Augustine’s thinking about sin, grace, and his interpretation of the Bible, trying to clear out the Aesthetics of Augustine and It’s continuation. At last we made some thinking related to reality.
