And the desire of forgiveness and unity of men is the key of quality and harmony between male and female, and it is the main idea of feminism. In the novel By the Light of My Father s Smile, the contemporary American writer Alice Walker has paid special attention to both black women’s body and spiritual traumas. She regarded the violence as the starting point to think about the survival condition of the black women and appealed for both race and gender equality. Walker set forth the idea of women’s body freedom and homosexuality. At the same time, she also put forward her resolving scheme for the hope of male and female, human beings and nature’s existing survival.Walker also expressed her views of ecofeminism which relates women’s liberation to the ecological coexistence of men and nature. Walker encouraged people to establish a harmonious relationship between man and nature, science and ecology for the mutual benefits of both men and nature.
