Chinese Family Ethics TV Series And The Construction Of Contemporary Cultural Values

In Chinese traditional culture,the sense of family ethics has always been the core position.There is no doubt that family is the center of life.Similarly,ethics is the order of ourlives.With the arrival of of mass media era,as one of the most significant literary and art style inthe new modern era,it is inevitable that TV series which is telling about family ethics come outspontaneously.On account of its unique artistic experience,Chinese family ethics TV seriesnaturally becomes the most popular and acceptable art form to the public audiences.For more than twenty years,the quantity of Chinese family ethics TV series grows from lessto more,and the kinds of the family ethics TV series from single to diverse,so,the discussionabout the Chinese family ethics TV series’study never stop its footsteps and go into a newclimax.It is high time that we studied the Chinese family ethics TV series.Different fromprevious related studies,this paper will research the family ethics TV series in a cultural valuesview,explain the symbiotic relationship between Chinese family ethics TV series and Chinesecontemporary cultural values in the horizontal and vertical cross point.According to the author’s ideas,this paper is mainly divided into four parts.In the first part,it will introduce the concept of the cultural values to file the relationbetween literature narrative discourse and traditional cultural values,and then it will put forwardthe typical problems of relations between new period narrative art of family ethics TV series andcontemporary cultural values,to foreshadow the explanation and demonstration of the relation.In the second,it files the influence of the contemporary cultural values on Chinese familyethics TV series in vertical direction: from the1990desire to the90’s of the last century,whichperiod is the initial stage of the Chinese family ethics TV series.Under the influence of dominantcultural values, it has obvious tendency of having something related to ethics enlightenment;Inthe late nineties,the mass culture gradually masters the right to speak,then,the Chinese familyethics TV series is becoming more and more popular,so they are also having more and morepopular culture’s commercial character,and this can be defined as the prosperous stage;Before and after2007,the Chinese family ethical TV series comes into the mature period,under theinfluence of the elite culture,it becomes increasingly rational,and it has more humane feelingswhich are rarely in previous family ethics TV series.In the third part,the paper mainly discusses the mode by which Chinese family ethics TVseries constructs the contemporary cultural values of China.It explains the family ethics TVseries’mode in constructing the contemporary cultural values from three aspects:the shaping ofcharacters,telling of secular emotion and the setting of conflicts.On the basis of the paper’ssecond part,the following paragraphs analyze the three vertical transverse dimensions,reveal theunderlying connotation of the family ethics TV series text phenomenon,thus clarify the influenceof family ethics TV series on the formation of contemporary cultural values.In the fourth part,based on the above arguments,the paper reflects on the contemporarycreation problems of Chinese family ethics TV series,then it looks forward to the new directionof Chinese family ethics TV series creation from the view of Chinese traditional culture values.In the real social life,the construction of a harmonious cultural values needs theparticipation and the guidance of the government authority,but the problems of the constructioncan not be solved merely by a government decree or a document,it requires the mobilization ofall related forces,especially the participation of the lively literary workers.What calls for specialattention is that,as a kind of a rising art form, obviously,the family ethics TV series has a verybroad space for further development.And compared to other forms of TV series,the familyethical TV series mostly originate from the ordinary common life,the audience can easily let theirthoughts into the TV series,thinking themselves as the character of the TV series,therefore,thefamily ethics TV series naturally has an advantage in the construction of contemporary culturalvalues.So we should give full play to the advantage of family ethics TV series,let cultural valuesbecome the soul and life of the narrative ethics family TV series,so as to provide a kind ofspiritual guidance for our daily reality,a kind of value orientation,let the contemporary culturalvalues can be constructed in the audiences’aesthetic enjoyment and emotional resonance.
