The Research On The "Enjoyment" In Slavoj Zizek’s Theory Of Psychoanalytic Ideologies

The core concept of Slavoj Zizek, who is a philosopher in Slovenia, is "Enjoyment", and his theory of psychoanalytic ideologies is gradually formed in the process of the agglutinate of this concept. Slavoj Zizek has opened up a new train of thought for "Enjoyment" on the basis of the combination of Marx and Lacan, and, expanded the concept of enjoyment. For Slavoj Zizek, enjoyment has become powerful tools for analyzing the ideology in modern capitalist society, even what can be seen is Surplus-enjoyment has been the motivation of human for something.With the concept of "Enjoyment" as the basis, this thesis explains addressing problems of Zizek’s "Enjoyment" theory in the system of social and cultural criticism, reveals the relationship between psychoanalysis and political criticism from the innovation of the enjoyment theory, and then discusses the pertinence of the enjoyment theory to socialissuesin the context of fetishism. Four parts are included in this thesis.The chapter one mainly gives the introduction of background and holistic overview from the view of background and significance of topics and research method, of which largely discusses the research status of "Enjoyment" in the Zizek’s theory of ideology.The chapter two primarily places "Enjoyment" in the social culture system and concludes the different problems emerging from "Enjoyment". Then the "Enjoyment" in Zizek’s theory of psychoanalytic ideologies is elaborated and the different "Enjoyment" research directions in Zizek’s theory of ideology is also conclude, with the purpose of laying the foundation of clarifying the connection between and progress of Zizek’s theory of psychoanalytic ideologies and Marx’s theory of ideology.The chapter three mainly further studies the relationship between psychoanalysis and ideology included in the "Enjoyment" theory, and explains "Enjoyment" as a key term from the following three facts:the innovation of the concept of "Enjoyment", instrumental interpretation and political steering of the "Enjoyment" theory. It can give full play to theoretical interpretations, and reveals the relationship between "Cultural criticism" and "Political criticism" which is reflected from the concept. Section one expounds the concept complements which are made by Zizek to the concept of "Enjoyment" in ideology, the relationship between "Surplus-enjoyment" and "Surplus value" and the core of the concept of "Enjoyment" in the theory of Zizek. Section two describes that enjoyment is the basis of ideological unity, and it is the core of Ideological Fantasy, so the enjoyment has the function of the tool, the analysis of enjoyment is the key to understand the operating mechanism of ideology. Section three emphasizes that enjoyment is not only a kind of joyful produced in the mentality, but has some political dimensions, investigates the effect at a political level, and gradually develops the enjoyment economics of ideology. The introduction of the Enjoyment theory marks that Zizek’s philosophy theory is going to a deeper level.The chapter four discusses the pertinence of the "Enjoyment" theory to the cultural social phenomena in the fetishism context of the capitalist culture. From the concept of "Modity fetishism", this part first stated the Jacques Lacan interpretation which is make by Zizek to Modity fetishism, then clarifications the source of Modity fetishism enjoyment, the driving force with enjoyment as psychological behavior of the subjects, and the manner making the subject back to the original unity. Finally, analyses the explanation of "Enjoyment" to capitalist culture phenomenon in the context of fetishism, from Marx to Jameson, and to Zizek, the continued perfection and developing of the Modity fetishism thought benefits from the intervention of Lacan’s psychoanalysis, and the most important is the intervention of the "Enjoyment" theory. So the analysis of the enjoyment theory is very important in the context of the capitalism fetishism.The final chapter concludes the relationship between "Psychanalysis" and "Ideology" reflected in the invention of the "Enjoyment" theory, and the relationship between cultural criticism and political criticism, finally, it is reviewed that the pertinence of the "Enjoyment" theory to the cultural social phenomena criticism.
