Language is the carrier of culture, and it reflects the profoundconnotation of culture,especially the cultural connotation of a certain age is reflectedby the neologisms appeared in that time.This thesis endeavors in discussing thecultural connotation of neologisms,including material culture, system culture,behavior culture, concept of culture through the neologisms appeared since thereform and opening up. In The new Period, the material civilization had developedso adequately that people could enjoy a better life. And several necessary systems hadbeen established for serving people. All of these transformations changed people’sidea and manners of behaviour.This thesis is divided into six chapters,the first chapter talks about thedefinition of neologism,the value of this topic,the analysis of the presents studysituation,the research object and research methods as the preambular part of thisthesis.The second chapter talks about the material culture of the neologism in thenew period,and discuss the effect caused by the development of economic and sciencein human life.The third chapter mainly discusses the system culture of the neologismin the new period,including the reform of the political system,reform andopening,one country two systems.The fourth chapter discusses changes ofentertainment,sports and life style which is reflected by the neologism.The fifthchapter discusses the changes about the human ideas reflected by theneologism,mainly including six types of the psychological tendency while peoplecommunicate through neologism:the changes about consumption concept,theimprovement of woman’s status, transform of marriage concept, environmentalprotection awareness and legal consciousness.The sixth chapter gives a summary forcontents of the whole research,and points out the existing problems of neologism and the inadequacy of the study.
