The Wang Shipeng Xiu Activity And Literature

Wang Shipeng, the Number One Scholar and famous official of theSouthern Song Dynasty, made profound achievements in both politics and literautre.In recent years, there has been increasingly academic research about him, which hasbrought about great progress in the field. During sixty years as a offical, WangShipeng spent three years in Kuizhou, which could direct futher studies of hisexperience in Sichuan province and thereby giving impetus to the research of theearly stage of political literature in Sichuan province.This thesis attempts to investigate the political and literature achievements andthe travel experiences of Wang Shipeng. By taking into account his life experiencesand the routes he took in and out of Sichuan which was recorded in ancientdocuments, this paper probes into the origins of his interest in literature, the contentof his creation as well as his artistic achievements.The matieral of this paper mainly comes from the Complete Works of WangShipeng, accompanied by the prefaces of the ancient masters, epitaph, the writingsfrom Wang descendants as well as the research papers of the modern scholars, topresent Wang’s experience in Sichuan.
