High School Students’ Magazine Catalogue Graphic Effects Of Eye Movement Research And Education Measures

How to arrange the relationship between text and images in content of magazine reasonably, which would present more information in a limited space in order to attract the reader’s attention, is one of the most concerned to the magazine editors, and publishing department also.This paper is to explore the concent graphic layout effect of middle school students magazine,specialy to explore the positional relationship between the directory page of text and picture as well as the degree of correlation, and discuss students memory and attention when then are reading the contents. The experiment was designed by4(location of pictures in the format:upper left, lower left, upper right, lower right)×2(picture ande words association degree:yes, no)×2(grade: the fisrt grade, the high grade) mixed experimental design. The fisrt grade and the high grade each has40students as subjects. The results of this experiment show that:(1)picture is located in the left lower position of the format, can cause more attention of the text;(2)in the eight format, the picture is located in the upper right portion and is irrelevant to text, reading efficiency is the highest;(3)Pictures and text have higher relevance, the scanning frequency between words and pictures increases, which helps to the memory of the text;(4)with the grades rise,subject attention from pictures turn to text.This paper aims to magazine editors for rational utilization of directory pages to arrange text and pictures, improved directory page graphic layout effect better, which provides a reference about more effective access to the content of the magazine for readers.
