The Research On Liu Clan Of Peng Cheng Prefecture And The Literature Of The Qi And Liang Dynasties

This thesis discusses Liu Clan of Peng Cheng prefecture and the literature of the Southern Dynasties. Liu Clan of Peng Cheng prefecture refers to Liu Hui and his son Liu Xiaochuo together with their nearly seventy family members. This thesis attempts to investigate the literary development and achievement of Liu Family through the inspection of the family literature research. Meanwhile, the thesis also put the Liu Family in the era of literature, to determine the similarities and differences between the general style of clan Liu’s literature and the writing style in Qi and Liang dynasties.This thesis consists of three parts. The first part gives a brief description of the native place, the family lineage, marriage and official career. Through the above analysis, the thesis aims to have a macro perspective to the Liu Family, and observe the ups and downs of the Liu Family in the historical changes. Thus we can measure the distance between the family and political center.The second part is the Liu Family and literary groups in Qi and Liang Dynasties, which expatiates on the literary interaction between the Liu Family and the royal literary group under the social and cultural background in Qi and Liang Dynasties.The third part is the study of the Liu Family literature. Through the forms, the paper classified the poems, articles,and features of the Liu Family. Also, the thesis analysis the similarities and differences between the general style of clan Liu’s literature and writing style in Qi and Liang Dynasties. Thus the similarities promotes the development and evolution of Qi and Liang Dynasties, and the differences are the outstanding contributions of the fanmily to the literary arena.At the last, combined with the above conclusions, this thesis gives an objective evaluation to Liu Clan of Peng Cheng prefecture consequently to determine Peng Cheng liu family status and influence in literary history.
