In the fifties of the last century, the American military images began to enter theChinese Contemporary Novels with the outbreak of the Korean War. InThe Seventeen Years literature and ten-year Cultural Revolution period, the ideological fieldis highly politicized, so the American military images during this period all follow the patternof the wind, and become abstracted and modeling. Writers generally show their critical andnegative attitude on the American military images. They think that the presence of theAmerican military images is in order to bring out the glorious image of the positive characterof our army, and it is beneficial to publicize and educate people at the same time. The second chapter studies the American servicemen images from the early1980s tothe late1990s. The downfall of the "Gang of Four" and the end of the "Cultural Revolution"injected free air into the Chinese literature, the whole society, especially the literature and artliterary circles were fully thawed. The subjectivity of the literature of this period wasimplemented in the main issue of the "people", therefore, the American military images ofthis period had obvious human characteristics. They are no longer the same face book-style role, but the real people full of flesh and blood. The third chapter studies the American military images of the21st century. With thedevelopment of The Times, the American military images of this period appear some newchanges. For example, the background of the times breaks through the limitations of theKorean War, and expands to the entire world. For another example, in numerous novels, human nature has further development, and the network novels become the main literatureform of shaping the American military images and so on. These new changes prompt theAmerican soldiers’ images of this period a lot more diversity and pluralism, reflects theopening of the times and the progress of ideology.
