“Heterogeneous” Writings In Context Of The Same War: A Comparative Study Of Novel Creations In China Themed By “the War To Resist U.S.Aggression And Aid Korea” And In Korea Themed By “Postwar”

The upsurge of the novel creation of “the Korean War” in China and Korea,triggered by the inter-Korea war in the Fifties,plays an important role in literature history in each country and is the milestone of the relationship between China and Korea transiting from intimacy to interruption in literary communion history of Korea-China.However,the comparative study of Novel Creations in China and Korea themed aiming at this particular historic stage is still not made,that is,such topic is involved in some papers,but it is not discussed specially.In the thesis,the literacy creations in China and Korea in this special period are attempted to be reviewed and compared.Through comprehensively seizing such aspects as the creation of ideas and the emphases of expressions presented by the writer communities in both countries and the experiences of war born by all types of characters and comparing the relevant representative works in detail,the artistic styles of war literatures on both sides and the approaches of processing the relation among literature,war and character are explored and the features of novel creations in both countries at that time are analyzed and summarized so that the novel writings in China and Korea in that particular period can be profiled and the differences between novels themed by “postwar” and “the war to resist U.S.aggression and aid Korea” and their causes of formation are tried to be discussed feasibly.This thesis can be divided into four chapters.In chapter 1,the origin and status of literature researches in China and Korea,that is,most important research achievements exist in the field of classic literature,a few in modern literature,and there are many research gaps in contemporary literature because of politic issues;meanwhile,the historical background of the inter-Korea war is also sketched to bed for the concept of this war.In chapter 2,the dual contexts of creation of novels themed by “the war to resist U.S.aggression and aid Korea” and novels themed by “postwar” are discussed,although they describe the same war.That is,the literature themed by “the war to resist U.S.aggression and aid Korea” flourishes the proletarian literature on the basis of ideology of highly uniform and by emphasizing the class viewpoint,and this literature takes literati writers,writers in army and army officers and soldiers as the subjects of creation group;but novels themed by “postwar” are created to reveal material destroy and mental trauma caused by war,to explore the source of disaster and the methods of escaping from tragedy and to reflect and complaint the war profoundly and thoroughly,and its creation group involves writers in traditionalism and post-war school simultaneously.In chapter 3,the relevant discussions are presented from such three aspects as soldiers,women and children,through comparing and analyzing the settings and portrayals of the types of images in novels themed by “the war to resist U.S.aggression and aid Korea” and novels themed by “postwar”.In the former one,the image of soldiers is the focus and is labeled and stereotyped seriously and the images of native women and children is weakened and even missed,which reflects the close relationship between these images and the image of Koreans;in the latter,these images are well-distributed relatively,that is,soldiers are often described as dual victim of the war and the society,and women and children are depicted as the important carriers of presenting the focal point and complaining the tragedy of war and social suffering.In chapter 4,the standpoints and perspectives of narration of novels themed by “the war to resist U.S.aggression and aid Korea” and “postwar” are elaborated and summarized,that is,in the former one,the memoirs of battlefield and restorations of warfare focusing on this war and the distinctive heroic discourses are presented thoroughly;in the latter,the reality of whole social decay in Korea after war and the complicated sequelae after war are presented by analyzing the different classes and stratums and roles and status from a wider social perspective which is different from the model of narration regarding the image of hero as the single subject advertising the pollical theme at that time.In chapter 5,the “heterogeneous” performances and their causes presented in novels themed by “the war to resist U.S.aggression and aid Korea” and “postwar” are summarized and concluded,that is,the “heterogeneous” natures of these two kinds of literary creations are contributed by the different objective status in war,the different subjective emotions and the relevant alien text functions.
