The Research Of Buyi Folk Love Stories

In recent years, there are so many achievements about folktale researches of minorities in China, but the studies of individual folktale lag behind. A case in point is the folktale of Buyi. This thesis makes a systematic study on love stories in Buyi folktales. There are many kinds of love stories in Buyi folktales, such as marriage between creatures, the pursuit of freedom, Cinderella Story and so on. Based on the analysis of a large number of texts, this thesis summarizes the overview and national characteristics of Buyi folk love stories by the Motif analytical method, Type research method, and Comparative research method. On the basis of the previous studies, this thesis makes the research on Buyi folk love stories comprehensive, precise and distinct.There are four parts in this thesis:Chapter One introduces the cultural background of Buyi folk love stories, including the ethnic origin, language, history, religion. At the same time, the related oral literary is introduced as well. Chapter Two classifies the folktales and analyzes the typical cases based on the extensive collection of texts. Chapter Three analyzes the cultural connotations of love stories in Buyi. This part also explores the national spirits, religious beliefs and cultural psychology which are contained in these love stories by making a comparison between the same types of stories in other nations. Chapter Four analyzes the artistic characteristics of love stories in Buyi folktale based on the texts.
