The Academic Study Of Ouyang Xiu’s Practical Writing And Writing Theory

Presently, the academic study of writing on Ouyang Xiu mainly focused on his literary works and prose attainments. In "The complete works of OuYang xiu", author found that practical writing accounted for a very large proportion. In the first part of this paper, the author studies Ouyang Xiu’s essays from the angle of practical writing, combine with his writing process, based on the deep research of his literary works, summarized the writing methods, writing characteristics, and carrying out classification study on Ouyang Xiu’s practical writing. In the following part, the author conducts the research focus on Ouyang Xiu’s writing theory. Ou Yangxiu mentioned a lot of practical writing theories in the process of writing, which are enriched the Song Dynasty practical writing theory, he also build the overall framework of the theoretic of practical writing. Some of Ouyang Xiu’s theories are still have guiding significance to the development of modern practical writing, the contributions he made on document writing is outstanding.
