Children’s pop-up book is a combination of books and toys, which owns educational as well as the funny functions. The form is extremely popular by parents and children. Colorful pictures and unique paper structures make the illustration out of the plain book vividly. Folding and unfolding pop-up book make a visual splendor experience.With the rapid development of economy in China, the blank of children’s pop-up book in Chinese book market is attracting the investments from foreign publishers. However, the lack of originality of pop-up book in Chinese native market results in some drawbacks. For instance, majority of pop-up books being sold in China are translated editions, which depends on the foreign books design. Accordingly, exploring the children’s pop-up book which exhibits characteristics of Chinese culture is meaningful and reasonable.This research mainly focuses on the Chinese traditional culture resources and children’s pop-up book. Extract the traditional culture elements, analyze the feature of pop-up book and find means of combining Chinese culture characteristics and children’s pop-up book. At last, design a children’s pop-up book to attain the following goals:Firstly, children could absorb the traditional culture during reading the book. Secondly, inherit the traditional culture in a brand new way-the pop-up book. Lastly, enrich the theory study of pop-up book in China.
