Analysis Of The Historical Factors Of The Theory Of Leaping Over "Kafdin Valley" Applying To China

The theory of leaping over “Kafdin Valley” was suggested by Marx in his lateyears; the ultimate purpose of this theory was completing his Social DevelopmentTheory, and providing a new way of developing for communist revolution in orientalbackward countries. When the communist revolution in Western Europe waspostponed, while the foundation of the revolution in oriental backward countries wasgradually improved, through the comparison of different social and historicalconditions in west and east, Marx thought that oriental backward countries need notcopy the way of development which happened in Western Europe, there was a newway for oriental backward countries to leap over Capitalistic” Kafdin Valley” andaccomplished the process of socialistic revolution directly. Since the1980’s, thedebate according to the theory of leaping over “Kafdin Valley” was never stopped,some of the scholars thought that this theory could only be applied to the revolution inRussia, and could not be applied to other oriental backward countries which includeChinese development. But, from studying the basic issues of this theory, it could beknown that this theory could guide communism revolution in oriental backwardcountries. Consequently, it is a rigescent way to comprehend the theory of leapingover “Kafdin Valley” by studying this theory only based on texts. The first reason forthis theory could apply to China is the containment of the theory itself; the secondreason is that the development of Chinese history and this reason is the main point ofthis paper. In a nutshell, the ultimate purpose of studying the theory of leaping over“Kafdin Valley” is to recognize this theory and take the advantage of this theory toguide the development of Socialist in China.
