Wang Zi Mei Comic Research From1935to1948

Comics as a representative of the era, from its birth began to fight for expose the dark social evil,it since the introduction of China’s role and the value has not diminished. From the qing government to the xinhai revolution, the northern expedition, the national government, the Anti-Japanese War, etc. How many wars have happened, cartoonist in the generation after generation, they created a great of realistic works, for laying solid foundation for the development of comic. This paper in view of the famous cartoonist Wang Zi Mei and comics, in the century30and40s comic experience as route, on the analysis of his comic image study, and to come to the conclusion that his writing style changes, characteristics, to reveal out his spirit connotation.This paper mainly divided into up and down, up is descriped by "The Wang Zi Mei Shanghai period", down is descriped by "The Wang Zi Mei exile period". Wang Zi Mei from Tianjin to Shanghai that he is engaged in the early stages of the comic creation and development; Anti-Japanese War broke out in his cartoon team exiled to Wuhan, guilin and finally arrived in Chongqing.His cartoonts also to mature gradually. With different periods through time,also his cartoonts have changed. On the subject of it, Shanghai period he painted cartoon portraits such as filmstar and cartoonists,after he moved to domestic and international the current affairs and political comics. In the period of exile he mainly depiting the war, Wang Zimei publicated the cartoonts which wars, irony, the Japanese aggressors, denounced the traitors, praising hero, etc. After entering the war of liberation,he served as the editor of the newspaper supplement,and started publications on his own. Wang Zi Mei’s comics by face to face with attacking the kuomintang ruling corruption and darkness, continue to uphold the comic irony, combat characteristics into the charge state of war.Wang Zimei in Shanghai’s depiction of the subject is a key link for the expression of his thoughts, but his Shanghai period is only one of his comic creation stage. His works play in the wartime role is much bigger than before. Therefore, the Anti-Japanese War,liberation war period comic makes possible which the continuation of his creation subject context.
