Study In Zihaoban Of Shanxi Opera

The existence and development of a type of opera need a certain economic foundation. It is provided by the founding of troupes, from the Zhonglu Bangzi theatrical troupe——Zihaoban——founded by Shanxi merchants in history, to the privately operated Shanxi opera troupe. Based on the study of troupes and theatrical troupes, this essay presents and summarizes the development history of Shanxi opera and its troupes, and expounds the historical link between Shanxi merchants and the formation and development of Shanxi opera. The study of Zihaoban construction and management mode,---from Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China period, from seven aspects---"the troupe organization and division of labor","the cast","remuneration package copies","keban (coban)","the season","repertoire", and "the rules of the troupe ", reviews and summarizes Zihaoban management mode. The essay reveals the culture origin from history, society, and humanity, and delves deeper the experiences of Zihaoban’s success. It is hoped that the study on Zihaoban by Shanxi merchants in history could contribute to provide a good historical reference for the contemporary private opera troupes, and the public theatres. The essay has not only practiced guiding significance to the development of the troupes on the contemporary private opera troupes. It is also benefit to protect and carry forward the traditional culture.
