Chuang Tzu is one of the most important reasoning proses of the pre-Qin period. He has an important station and influences profoundly in China traditional academic culture. Chuang Tzu also has deep influence on Chinese culture, especially on Chinese literary thinking. Telling us the truths with the help of fables is one of the most salient features of Chuang Tzu. We should note that it was a record of Confucius and his disciples’ speech that express a wealth of ideological and cultural connotation. So we had better study the roles acted by Confucius and his disciple, which will help us to understand what dose the book Chuang Tzu say.This thesis focuses on the images shaped by Confucius and his disciples and tries to go into more detail on the idea and artistic value of creating these images on the basis of the previous research results. Except for the foreword and complimentary close, this thesis has three parts as follows:The first part preface, mainly expounds the aims and significance of the subject, research status at home and research thinking and try to card these research status, which has pointed out the innovations and key points of these papers.The first chapter focuses on the images of Confucius and his disciples (like:Yan Hui, Zi Gong and so on) and it is necessary to classify and summarize these images. We also try our best to find something profound hidden from these images.The second chapter is to demonstrate the thought and art value respectively of Confucius and his disciples’ images Chuang Tzu shaped. Studying the ideological values aims to find the creation significance of reshaping of the image of representatives of Confucian by Chuang Tzu, which reveals the exposure and animadvert on the negativity of "benevolence" in Confucianism and political flaws. That also reveals our deep thought of the society full of different kinds of alienation in humanity caused by the advance of human civilizations. Seen from the view of art, apart from the introducing art into the dialogue and ingenious narrative tactics, the more attractive point is the applying of imagination, irony, exaggeration, distortion and other arts practices.The third chapter focuses on the realistic significance of these images shaped by Chuang Tzu, which is of enlightening significance to us. Seen from the view of the influence on the development of scholars’ ideal personality and their value of life, Chuang Tzu gives representatives of New Confucianism temperament of Taoism, which has an deep influence on the development of combining Confucianism and Taoism insisted by the following generation. And,"Poverty leads to the cut-up is the world economy," put forward by Confucianism, has always became the holy place for which feel frustrated with the pace.
