Piano art has three performance forms, including solo, ensemble and accompaniment. Today, incorporated into Harmony, Musical Analysis, Polyphony, Orchestration and Pianism, piano accompaniment art is got more and more attention and enjoyed by people on music stages both at home and abroad. Guzheng, a Chinese ancient musical instrument containing great civilization and essence of Chinese nation, is continuously developing and shining in the historical long river. Nowadays, the two musical instruments with different rules, timbres, and playing thoughts are boldly combined by a great number of excellent national composers. Since then plenty of excellent and contemporary zither music works with piano accompaniment have appeared, becoming immortalised of piano accompaniment in the history of Chinese instrumental music, and guzheng in the national instrumental music history.This thesis analyses the development history of piano accompaniment and summarizes its artistic characteristics. From the development of guzheng and Chinese piano, the thesis involves the cause of birth of guzheng piano accompaniment, then from the micro perspective explains the factors influencing guzheng piano accompanist, combining with the guzheng piano accompaniment works of" Tune of Rainbow Cloud" and "Overlook Qinling" explains the specific methods of guzheng piano accompaniment in the playing, then discusses the significance of existence of guzheng piano accompaniment art from the macro perspective, and makes readers to think the prospect of guzheng piano accompaniment.This thesis, mainly from the perspective of the theory of "culture fusion", explains the combination of "piano" and "guzheng", and makes some constructive work on how to achieve " the development path of Chinese national instrument with piano accompaniment between Chinese and western cultural fusion " and on the subject construction of Chinese national instrument with piano accompaniment.
