The phenomenon " abstract noun+Shang(上)" in modern Chinese is a structure that extensively used in the real language environment. However, the internal structure is not homogeneous. Among them, a part of them expresses a more real relative relationship of space and location, another part of them expresses a more general, semantic meaning. In addition, we find that the closer the combination of "abstract nouns " and "Shang(上)", the meaning of the two parts are more ethereal. With this process, there produced some new structure, such as " JI BEN SHANG(基本上)’," SHI JI SHANG(实际上),""YUAN ZE SHANG(原则上)" and other such structures, both of them are not typical words nor typical phrases. This paper aims to adopt a consensus and diachronic perspective for studying this kind of grammatical elements, the text is divided into five parts:Introduction. This paper describes the theoretical background, makes a general study of the history of localizer, analyses the blur phenomenon of localizer " Shang(上)" in the structure " abstract noun+SHANG(上)", thereby assuming the blur manner of such structures. The formation and development of’X-’. The virtue manner of’X-’can be studied from the view of linguistics. The structure of’X-’originates from the construction‘在+x上’.The semantic of abstracted noun is blurring when entering the construction, causing the cross-layer mismatch with localizer’Shang(上)’and gradual fall-off of preposition-Zai(在).As a result, the structure of’X-’is established. From the synchronic level, the current situation of the suffix of’X-’is described and the approach to identifying the typical suffix is analyzed. Based on previous information, the future evolution path can be deduced. Investigating the Suffix of "X-’.This section firstly investigate the characteristics of the attached objective-’X’ among the Suffix of ’X-’. And then the syntactic function of’X-’can be analyzed from two aspects:distribution and match. Therefore, the property of’X-’could be identified, which forms the basis of describing semantic performance of the Suffix of’X-’. It pinpoints that the suffix of’X-’not only modifies central words as the general restrictive adverbs, but strongly conveys the subjective feelings about the modified objective or former proposition, such as’negative’or’micro-’ The motives and mechanisms of cliticization of ’X-’. This chapter analyzes the motives and mechanisms of cliticization from the following six aspects:the weakening of original meaning, the facilitation of language context, the highlights of focus, anti-expectation, topic sign and economical principles of pragmatics.Conclusion. In the final section, it will summarize the research findings, realize the limitations and shortcomings, and propose the future research directions.
