Research On Application Of The Book Cover Design To Art Painting Idea Of "Transformation In Imagination Bring Unexpected Acquisition"

As the arrival of the new era, book cover design needs to be innovated to meet the market demand. Specifically, book cover design must attract readers by brightening their eyes and presenting a new appearance. Covering a wide field, art book is not clearly defined. Consequently, the peculiarity of art book was analyzed by’the rule of thirds’and ’the rule of fourths’. In order to ensure the same study communities, fictions and poetries were selected as art book in this paper according to its cultured audience who are engaged or interested in this type of book.Because the special nature and audience of literary book, art book design should be different from other book cover design. However, domestic designers pursuit western logical order of design unilaterally. Then design becomes a dull quantization process, relying on computer technology blindly. Designers are severely lacking in consideration of cultural thought of art book, leading to the same layout of works. Designers do not reflect the value in institutional culture, not exploring human psychology and understanding humanity. Confronted with the collapse of traditional culture, designers are increasingly confused of cover design, and domestic audience are unable to find identity of their own culture.There is no existing thought based on Chinese culture to guide art book cover design. Therefore, the painting idea’Transformation in Imagination Brings Unexpected Acquisition’was proposed to be the guiding thought in this paper. To be exact, art book cover design will obtain more creativity, emotion and culture via’Transformation in Imagination’. Then the content and cover design can be conveyed to the readers’heart more precisely via’Unexpected Acquisition’. In order to bring’Unexpected Acquisition’, originality is indispensable. This paper discussed around the concept’Transformation in Imagination Brings Unexpected Acquisition’, focusing on two key problems in response to art book cover design. For one thing, designers must know how to state their own views. In fact the writer’s opinions were proposed on how to transform imagination and how to acquire unexpectedly. For another thing, there are not enough expression of creativity and emotion in current domestic art book cover design. Moreover, art book cover design is lack of cultural heritage. Domestic art book cover design cannot move into a new phase until these two issues are solved. Additionally a number of representative works were analyzed as well as some works finished by the writer, thereby confirming the proposed opinions further.
