The Research Of Li Bone Hairpin Art In Hainan

Bone Hairpin in Li Nationality (living in Hainan Province), is fine carved from defatted bones and is a kind of traditional and precious jewelry in Hainan Province, which mainly exists in the Hainan "Run Dialect","Meifu Dialect" and "Ha Dialect". As a form of Li art, bone hairpin is not only unique in style with exquisite carving, but also contains a wealth of Li culture codes. It not only has its own historical and regional features, but also reflects the aesthetic ideal and desire, which shows the personalized aesthetic features and distinct national culture of Li nationality.In this paper, with bone hairpin being the research object, we have done four field researches, respectively in Hainan Baisha Li Autonomous County, Wuzishan City and Oriental City. We integrated numerous related literature and collected data about bone hairpin, which did a solid foundation for this thesis.The writer pursues the art of bone hairpin in three aspects: firstly, technically. This paper has an overall record for the production process, the making process and skills, which shows that Li bone hairpin, as a kind of intangible cultural heritage, contains the infinite wisdom of Li people; secondly, aesthetically. Each totem has its definite meaning. According to the understanding of Li bone hairpin patterns, we divide the patterns into three categories, so that we can get to know the awareness of life, the feelings for life and the pursuit of the spirit of freedom in Li people; thirdly, artistic heritage. The culture needs to be transmitted and the Li bone hairpin with original cultural connotation, has its unique attraction. Aside of pattern and craft, the paper discusses the inheritance, development of Li bone hairpin, as well as how to meet the demand of modern market, with the hope to be able to make the bone hairpin art full of new vitality in modern civilization.Combining the on-the-spot investigation data and the content related literature, this paper further interprets the bone hairpin culture systematically and comprehensively, adds to the documents of Li bone hairpin craft and enriches the bone hairpin culture research field.
