This article takes a group of scholars, who gathered in the Xiuwen-Pavilion for literature creation in Jing long year of Tang Zhong-Zong Dynasty, as the subjects of study. There are three purposes of studying the constitution of the scholars and the creation of their poems, as well as the supplements and literature value of the remnant paper about the Jinglongwenguanji: first, to restore the grand occasion of the literature world at that time and the literature style of the scholars; second, to make objective remarks on literary works in Tang Zhong-Zong Dynasty; third, to further analyze the creation background of the scholar’s work.Centered on this topic, this article is divided into five chapters. In the perspective of philology, it studies the changes of the Jing long Xiuwen-Pavilion’s function during the evolution of pavilion system and the number, members, identities, native places as well as the appointments of the scholars who had a position in the pavilion. It also collates the literature works produced during four years by those scholars in the Jing long year and discriminates, collects and analyzes the reappearing, lost and forged ones. On this basis, this article also unscrambles those literary creations intensively: classifies them based on the contents and analyzes the characteristics in detail, distinguishes academic features and influences of them, aimed to reveal the functions and true values of those scholars in the literature transition over the period of early and flourishing ages of Tang dynasty.
