Court poetry style was the main style in the Early Tang Dynasty. In Zhong Zong's court, court poets represented by scholars of Xiu Wen Guan created high quantity court poems of high quality. Perfect form, austere language and excellent skills were employed in these poems. Nevertheless, the writing motivation was ingratiation to dynasts, and the poems were lack of sensibility and disposition. But they avoided this shortcoming in non-court poetry which was a basement of High Tang Dynasty.This paper are departed in three chapters. The first chapter focuses on activities of scholars of Xiu Wen Guan in Zhong Zong's court. The second chapter mainly discusses court poetry on content, form and language. The third chapter is searching for the causation of poetry in the High Tang Dynasty according to the analysis of non-court poetry.
