Comparative Study Of Confucius Institute With French Alliance’s Culture Function

With the strengthening of economic globalization, the communication and cooperationamong countries on politics, economic and culture have become more and more frequent.Language and cultural reflect soft power in International affairs, and it plays an important role.In order to increase the right to speak and spread native culture to the world, some countriesestablished language-culture promotion institutes with language and culture as thebreakthrough one by one, such as France Alliance, Goethe Institute, British Council etc.Followed the trend, our country established the first Confucius Institute in2004. Based on theculture function study of language-culture promotion institute, the essay will makecomparison between France Alliance and Confucius Institute, giving reasonable suggestionson the problems exists in Confucius Institute culture function, promoting the ConfuciusInstitute to develop both fast and sound.This study includes the following aspects:The first part is the introduction. It summarized the basic situation of the study fromdifferent aspects: the basic conditions of this research from the origin of the topics, ConfuciusInstitute and the French Alliance’s basic introduction, the related research review and theresearch significance.The second part by compares and analyses Confucius Institute with French Alliance’sculture function to summed up their similarities in cultural function, those are the educationalfunction of exchange and cooperation, academic exchange function, language culturaldiffusion function, inheritance and development of culture and development and promotion ofcultural soft power function.The third part by compares and analyses with French Alliance’s culture function to sum upConfucius Institute’s some shortcomings in cultural function, which contains the function ofteacher training, the cultural social integration and social orientation function, the way oflanguage cultural diffusion and propagation effect.The fourth part from compares and analyses Confucius Institute with French Alliance’sculture function put forward three suggestions for Confucius Institute extant questions, inorder to promote sound and rapid development of Confucius Institute.The final part is a conclusion. It concluded that Confucius Institute is facing bothopportunities and challenges in Chinese as a foreign language. We should see things with theproblem by the view of development, be prepared for danger in times of peace and promoteConfucius Institute has a brighter future road on the international stage.
