Facial sexual dimorphism is the differences in facial masculinity and femininity characteristics between mature men and women with adolescent secondary sexual characteristics developing, such as, with large forehead, think eyebrow, large chin in male face and thin eyebrow, large eyes, smaller chin in female face. Faces with obvious sexual dimorphism have more facial attractiveness which affects face recognition, and which influences face preference. Theory of sexual selection based on superior genes and multiple cost-benefit modeling can explain preference to face with sexual dimorphism to some extent. Social environment one suffered and individual condition can also affect preference to face with sexual dimorphism, thus preference to face with sexual dimorphism varies with culture. Western culture pay attention to success and career, which belongs to masculine culture, oriental culture belongs to femininity culture. Most of previous studies explored reference to face with sexual dimorphism with Ss lives in western countries, and so little study explored preference to face with sexual dimorphism with Ss lives in oriental countries. Adaption to faces can recalibrate face preference which individuals viewed rapidly. Exposure to faces biases perceptions of subsequently viewed faces. Faces similar to those seen previously are judged more normal and attractive than they were prior to exposure. Previous research to adaption to faces always proceeded with single sexual Ss(male or female) and opposite sexual faces(female or male) with sexual dimorphism via subjective assessment. This study aims to explore oriental individuals’preference to face with sexual dimorphism based on oriental culture and facial adaption’s influences on preference to face. Cue-target paradigm was used to design three experiments to explore oriental individuals’ preference to face with sexual dimorphism based on oriental culture and facial adaption’s influences on preference to face. Experiment1compares reaction time individuals respond to four kinds of dimorphism faces(masculinity female face, femininity female face, masculinity male face, femininity male face) when cue stimuli is effective, then analysis whether there is preference bias to dimorphism faces, if there is, judge attention vigilance or attention maintaining. Experiment2made some extension based on experiment1, added facial adaption as an variation which affects dimorphism face attractiveness. After short adaption, study whether there is difference between individuals’ preference to dimorphism faces. Experiment used pretest-posttest design which is mostly used in currently foreign researches which studied facial adaption’ influences on dimorphism face attractiveness, changed subjective assessment means, employed cue-target paradigm, compared variation in attention vigilance and attention maintaining before and after facial adaption. Furthermore, experiment3explored based on experiment2’results, which intend to find whether individuals’ preference to normal male face, normal female face and subject varies consistently, then include that whether facial adaption affects preference to dimorphism face specifically. Followings are the principal results and conclusions:(1) Under Chinese background, male and female individuals have obvious preference to femininity female face and femininity male face.(2) Adaption to faces made individuals recognized more facial dimorphism information and preference to dimorphism face more obvious than before. Facial adaption influence female individuals’ preference to femininity male face and male individuals’ preference to femininity female face notably, individuals preferred at high level, but Facial adaption can’t reverse individuals’ preference.(3) There is a significant interaction in facial adaption, face and Ss gender while there is none in normal faces. Facial adaption influences preference for dimorphism face specifically. And there is a significant influence on female’s preference for femininity male face and male’s preference for masculinity male face and femininity female face.
