Deng Yizhe, who was one of modern aestheticians and art historians in China. He and Zhu Guangqian,Zong Baihua,who have made important contribution to the establishment and development of Chinese modern aesthetics. The three aesthetics set up their own aesthetic ideology in the collision and fusion between western aesthetics and Chinese traditional aesthetics, and then they became the founders of Chinese modern aesthetics. Deng Yizhe has been accepted the education of traditional Chinese culture since his childhood, and he was familiar with the painting, music, drama, poetry, and other arts. At the beginning of the20th century, he began to learn from the western academic, and accepted the western aesthetic terms, concepts and thinking modes. Because of his profound literacy about China and west, Deng Yizhe made a creative fusion of Chinese and western aesthetic resources at the base of sticking to Chinese traditional artist, then he put forward the viewpoint of "Painting in heart is exhibition ", and integrated it into "the beauty of artistic conception" on painting and calligraphy.As the breakthrough point,"fusion of Chinese and western " is Deng yizhe’s unique style,then we can discuss the value of his aesthetic thoughts on Chinese modern aesthetics. This paper is divided into four parts to solve the following issues: what place does Deng Yizhe have in the history of Chinese aesthetics? what creative practices does he do in financing aspect of Chinese and western aesthetic thought? How does the practice shed light on our understanding on the fusion of Chinese and western aesthetics? What unique and practical significance do calligraphy and painting aesthetics thoughts have?...
