An Analysis Of The Semantics And Text Linguistics Of Modern Chinese Modal Adverb Chengran

“Chengran” is a frequently used word in written language of modern Chinese.There are many researches about “chengran” on part of speech or semantic,but lessresearches on the view of text，and bout which part of speech it belongs to,the reasonwhy it become to a word, different scholars have different opinions. So in this paper,we will research which part of speech it belongs to,the reason why it become to aword,and the text linguistics of modern Chinese modal adverbs “chengran”, toconduct detailed in-depth study.This paper, through the description and comparison, carries out the specificinspection in semantic features, pragmatic aspects of performance and discourse about“chengran”, semantic features about the sentences which contain “chengran”. Thewhole paper is divided into4chapters, main contents are as below.The first chapter is about why I choose this topic, the research status andproblems, what theory we will use and where the corpus comes from.The second chapter is about the definition of “chengran”. We determine that“chengran” is a modal adverb, not a Conjunction.The third chapter is about the process of grammaticalization of “chengran”,and analysis the reason of the process of grammaticalization.The fourth chapter is about the semantic analysis and text linguistics of“chengran”. First, summarize the language environment and restraint of “chengran”in the text. Then we summarize the semantic feature of “chengran”. At last, weanalysis the pragmatic characters of “chengran”, which includes stylistic distributionand pragmatic function.Finally, it is the conclusion which summarizes and concludes the whole paper,and indicates the deficiency of this paper.
