A Study On The Characteristics Of Implicit Attitudes And Explicit Attitudes Toward Suicidal Bahaviour Among The Major Deprresion Disorder

Objective: using psychological tests to demostrate the characteristics of implicitattitudes and explicit attitudes towards suicidal bahaviour among the major deprresivedisorder. Then a randomized, controlled study was followed to investigate how CBTinfluence the explicit attitudes and implicit attitudes towards suicideal bahviour.Methods: In this study,101patients suffering the major deprresive disorder (MDD)were selected as subjects, and their implicit attitudes and explicit attitudes towards sucidalbahaviour were measued by Suicide Attitude Questionnaire and IAT tests. Throughstatistical methods to demostrate the the characteristics of implicit attitudes and explicitattitudes towards suicidal bahaviour among the major deprresive disorder.In study two,68patients with suicidal minds were divided into two groups randomlyafter their implicit and explicit attitudes were assessed by Beck Scale for SuicideIdeation-Chinese Version, which is experimental group (E) and controlled group (C). ThenC group was given nomal medical treatments,, while E group was given nomal medicaltreatments and cognitive-behavior therapy (CBT). Then the change of suicidal attitudeswas followed after12weeks treatments.Results:1.on the explicit attitudes toward sucidal behaviour, male patients show moresuppotive attitudes than female; the unmarried, the divorced and the widower/widowshow more suppotive attitudes than the married;2.on the implicit attitudes towards sucidalbehaviour, the patients show negtive attitudes on average;3. the explicit attitudes towardsucidal behaviour is dissociated from the implicit attitudes;4. the explicit attitudes andimplicit attitudes toward sucidal behaviour can predict the sucidal inclination;5.12-weeksCBT can change the explicit attitudes toward sucidal behaviour significantly, while it canchange the implicit attitudes toward sucidal behaviour on the secondry level only.Conclusion：1the explicit attitudes toward sucidal behaviour is dissociated from the implicit attitudes；2the explicit attitudes and implicit attitudes toward sucidal behaviourcan predict the sucidal inclination；3. CBT can change the explicit attitudes and influenceimplicit attitudes toward sucidal behaviour.
