On Regulating Translators In China

In recent decades, as the human society, globalization andinternational communication are developing dramatically, translationbecomes a more significant media in maintaining sustainable cooperationand development in the world. As the subject of translation, translatorsreceive more but not enough attention. This thesis conducts a study onregulating translators, which may help to improve the translators in China.The thesis consists of five chapters. Chapter One introduces the studybackground, the significance of this study, methodology, and the layout ofthe thesis. Chapter Two is the part of literature review. It relates to theprevious studies on the translators and the rules and regulation of them.Chapter Three involves experience of ether countries and ancient China inthe rules and regulation of translators in three aspects: organization,admission and legislation. Chapter Four lists the problems of translators inChina and proposes approaches to the problems. Chapter Five gives theconclusion of this thesis.In a word, by employing the methods of descriptive study, case study,comparative analysis and data analysis, the thesis mainly discusses theproblems of the rules and regulation of translators in China, and thesolutions to problems above in hopes of providing some thoughts improvingthe rules and regulation of translators in China.
