The novels of Mu Shiying had apparent features of avant-garde in narrative. This paper will analyze the experimental nature of narrative perspectives, narrative styles and narrative grammars from Mu’s novels, and probe the modernity spiritual transmutation of Mu Shiying in the concept of subject, thought and value.Firstly, the narrative perspectives of Mu Shiying’s novels had transformed. When he wrote the metropolis, Mu Shiying changed his perspectives from fixed angel of restraint to scatter angel of transcendence. It could make his sight move freely and easily. Thereby, the metropolis that he wrote showed the condition of stereoscopy and polyphony. The transformation of narrative perspectives changed the unidireetionally cognitive mode of subject, made the text unify the diverse, heterogeneous and irreconcilable orientation in the discourse. Depending on the standpoint of perspectivism, it knew the world in multi-dimension which prevented dogmatism. Thence, Mu acquired a new method to know the world. It made Mu Shiying reconstruct the connotation of subject at interactivity of the multiple subjects.Secondly, the narrative styles of Mu Shiying’s novels had mutated. By weakening the plot, blending the styles and combining the categories with other arts, his novels had the pluralistic discourse tendency of lyrical and visual features. This kind of mutation changed the linearity and directionality of narrative, cut the narrative chain which constructing the meaning of the novel, and broke the literary norms of Chinese traditional narratives and Western classical narratives. It challenged the legality of meta-narrative. Essentially, the incredulity of meta-narrative was the distrust of rationality. It subverted the law of causality, overturned the pattern of dual antagonism in thinking which behaved the inclination of changing in thought.Finally, in narrative languages, Mu Shiying’s novels had cut the sentences chains. On the contrary, the sentences assembled by subconscious. The words were ranged repeatedly and disorderly, even had symbolic deformation. Furthermore, the concatenation of contrary languages made the contradictory tension. And the intertextuality between the texts expanded the spaces of language interpretation. This kind of unconventional language experiments, in the aspect of parole, broke through the literary tradition which had formed after the new literature movement; subverted the deep grammar construction of narrative language in the aspect of langue. As a result, in fact, it was a game of language. Language game deconstructed the theory of logocentric and signified the changes of values. Therefore, the value had not presented metaphysically and language had not the carrier to express specific ideas or values. On the contrary, the formation of meanings and the construction of values had fulfilled by language game.Transformation in narrative perspectives, mutation in narrative styles and subversion in narrative languages brought to the conversion in the concept of subject, thought and value, directed to a new pattern to express the meaning. It reconstructed the spiritual quality in modernity contexts and had conspicuous features of avant-garde.
