The Jade Culture And Gold Culture In Dream Of Red Chamber And The Reference For Modern Jewelry Design

Dream of Red Chamber in Qing Dynasty is a great novel of China，a set of ideas and art ina body, at times of peak."A dream of Red Mansions" in the literary and artistic value, butalso has the deep intension of traditional culture, such as the jade culture, and goldculture. The aesthetic thought and philosophy from Dream of Red Chamber are worthy ofresearching，and to the modern jewelry design is very useful. This is the originalintention of writing.This paper briefly introduces the author’s life and the status in the literature history ofDream of Red Chamber, and discusses the cultural value and aesthetic value. This is thegroundwork of following research. Then, this paper analysis starting from the jadeculture’s effect on the creation of Dream of Red Chamber, discusses why jade is theoutline. This paper also reveals the classic central characters on behalf of the jade culture.Then, we can say the jade culture laid the artistic foundation of Dream of Red Chamber.Secondly, this paper introduces the gold culture in the traditional culture, analyzes thetwo forms of gold in Dream of Red Chamber. The two forms are virtual and practicalwriting. And then discusses the gold as another narrative clues of this book, and somefigures have the obvious characteristics of gold. Jade culture and gold culture like twowater diversion, divided the symbolic characters, promote the plot development, alsostrengthened the beauty of the work.Finally, this paper discusses how to contact the jade culture and gold culture to themodern jewelry design. The jade culture can be combined with contemporary jewelry,the design can be represented as poetic atmosphere and the personality of the moistsense; and the gold culture in contemporary jewelry can do some transformation,modern jewelry design can be alloy characteristics, showing each piece of gold singleproduct aesthetic charm. The traditional culture should be fused with contemporarythinking in modern jewelry design, the inheritance of contemporary people’s emotion,and incorporated into the contemporary art.Based on the above study, this article takes the jade culture and gold culture intraditional literary works--Dream of Red Chamber and modern jewelry design makessome binding and thinking，have designed two pieces of works. The two works use jadeand gold to be subject, in the expression of thinking, design, implication to create some development, product production has reached the expected effect, hope to lay thefoundation for the further design.
