Study On Ethical Problems And Countermeasures Of Internet Psychological Counseling

In modern society, while people enjoy the convenience and sensory pleasure caused by science and technology, they face more and more problems, especially the mental and psychological problems.On account of this situation, psychological counseling has been payed attention to by more and more people.As well as the demand of psychological counseling is becoming larger and larger, the related research and application of it has been developing rapidly. Since the early1990s, with the development of computer and network technology, Internet counseling has arised at the historic moment and been quite popular with the client in practice.As a new form of psychological counseling, Internet psychological counseling is the information interaction between counselor and client.On one hand, Internet psychological counseling holds advantages which traditional one has not, on the other hand, it faces many problems, especially the ethical issues, involving the verifying of qualification and identity, confidentiality of privacy and defending the related people, informed consent and respecting for autonomy, double and multiple relations, and other aspects. The Internet psychological counseling ethics is the ethical code and conduct standard, which the Internet psychological consultation activities should follow. It is also a kind of system of value judgment and behavior concept that can fuse the border of the virtual and actual situation, connect the counselor and the client. The system contains some basic ethical principles such as benevolence, volition, respect, honesty, fairness and harmless and some specific ethical code and conduct standard.To solve the ethical problems of Internet psychological counseling, first of all, we should improve the moral accomplishment and professional quality, including the construction of subject’s moral cognition, popularizing professional ethics education, strengthening professional skills training, etc; secondly, we should strengthen the moral self-discipline and ethical regulation, including promotion of the moral subject’s the self-discipline consciousness, organization of professional ethics committees and other community, valuing the ethical regulation of industry, etc.; thirdly, We should speed up to draw the ethical code and industry regulations, to formulate and improve local Internet psychological counseling ethical code and relevant laws and regulations, on the base of the professional ethical code of other countries and regions. At present, there is almost not any domestic professional standard and ethical code on Internet psychological counseling. Based on existing research results and practical experience, the author has summarized10ethical codes about Internet psychological counseling of mainland, in order to provide reference for subsequent research and practice.
