Mario Vargas Llosa, the2010Nobel Prize winner, the world master of fiction, hasbeen hailed as the master of “Structural Realism”, the lord of Latin America “big bangliterature”.“Green House” is his second novel. When it came out in1967, itimmediately won the Peru National Prize for Fiction, the Spanish Literature Award,and the international prize for literature which named after Romulo Gallegos byVenezuela government. Recently, because the analyses of “Green House” in Chinamainly study the aspects of its narrative structure and very few people thinks about histhoughts or the social meaning of the text. So, this paper is trying to grasp the author’screation thoughts and spirits, investigate the works under the background of culturebased on the principle of combining theory and practice from the text. And what’smore, the writer will reference the view from Homi K. Bhabha to state thepost-colonial thought of Mario Vargas Llosa.This paper is divided into five parts:First of all, Introduction is divided into three sections. The first part mainly analyzesthe research situation of this topic. The second part mainly discuss the innovationsand significance of this paper. The third section is about to interpret the main theoriesof Homi K. Bhabha to make the structure be more clearly.The first chapter mainly starts with “the other” problem which is discussed by HomiK. Bhabha. And then put the theory into the book “Green House” and find out theexamples, with specific figures to demonstrate Mario Vargas Llosa’s ambivalentfeelings.The second chapter further states and analyzes Mario’s hybridity thoughts form thefigures, language, and identity change of the figures in the text. In order todemonstrate his consciousness of breaking the boundary between the east and west.The third chapter talks about the author’s own special identity, eastern and westernreligious culture, and sexual differences to show Mario’s intention for constructing thethird space and its practical significance. Conclusion part mainly summarizes and generalizes Mario’s post-colonial thoughts:from the cultural conflict, culture hybridity to a harmonious state. Mario Vargas Llosacompletes his "third space" construction and his work further shows us a culturalharmonious and co-prosperity community.
