This is a translation project report on Memory:A Very Short Introduction, ofwhich Chapter1&2, by Jonathon K.Foster, professor of Oxford University. Thebook is a very short introduction of memory with plain words but enormoussystematic and scientific experimental research on the information-processingmodels of memory, as well as measures to improve memory.The information-processing models elaborated in this book, to a great extent,echoes with the translator’s cognitive psychology in the translation process.Additionally, the rising psychological models has become a major concern for thetranslation studies and to some extent is a complement and development of linguisticmodels, intercultural communication models and function models. In this context,translator proposed to analysis this translation report with the view oftranslation process model proposed by professor Roger T. Bell, and retrieve thetranslation process trough the case study in typical exampler. The emphasis wouldbe put on the feasible translation strategies and measures applied in the process oftranslation, so as to clear about the cognitive process in translation and serve forpractice.
