The Study On Inscription In The Literati Landscape Paintings In Song And Vuan Dynasties

As a part of Chinese traditional culture, the literati landscape paintings in Song and YuanDynasties have had a profound and extensive influence on today’s painting.It is a type ofspecial art which integrates philosophy, aesthetics, literature, poetry, calligraphy, religion andother cultures. Among them, inscription art is the most dazzling and radiant aura, andeventually it becomes a shining pearl in the history of the Chinese painting. The inscriptionplays a great practical role in understanding the contents and creating the formal beauty in theliterati landscape paintings.Inscription in the literati paintings began to germinate in Song Dynasty and graduallydeveloped and flourished from Yuan Dynasty. On the perspective of the contents and forms ofinscription in the literati landscape paintings, the author makes further sorting, analysis andstudys in Song and Yuan Dynasties, and then expounds the deeper connotation and inscriptionmeaning in the literati landscape paintings.The thesis consists in four parts, researching the inscription in the literati landscapepaintings in Song and Yuan Dynasties. The first part elaborates the development of the literatilandscape paintings in Song and Yuan Dynasties and the origin of inscription. Combining withdocumentation, the author discussed the formation of the literati landscape paintings in SongDynasties and knows that the literati landscape paintings in Song Dynasties is the result ofinteraction in the special political environment. It has bright national characteristics and greatsignificance in the history of Chinese painting. Based on the literati landscape paintings in theSong Dynasty, inscription has made new breakthrough and development in Yuan Dynasty.The second part states the germination and development of inscription in the literati paintingsin Sing Dynasty. At first, the chapter, through the analysis of the historical background ofliterati landscape paintings in Song Dynasty, and combined with the thought at that time,leads to the causes of inscription. Then, with the method of image analysis, the paperintroduces some inscription works of the literati landscape painters, and chooses some representative works to discusses the thought foundation in creating the literati landscapepaintings. The third part, which is also the key part of the chapter, expounds the diversifieddevelopment of inscription of the painting thought fission under the multi-cultural shock inYuan Dynasty. The chapter mainly from the ideological roots, inner spirit, disseminator andother aspects discourses the diversified development of inscription under the multiculturalideological fission in Yuan Dynasty. Moreover, combined with the inscription works, itanalyses the content and form in depth of inscription in the literati landscape paintings inYuan Dynasty. The inscription in literati landscape paintings in Yuan Dynasty has advantagesof rich contents, various forms and extreme personality characteristics. The last part of thethesis discusses the influences on later generations and its historical status and significance ofinscription in the literati landscape paintings in Song and Yuan Dynasties.
