Taking Giorgione’s influence on the Venetian school as the central argument, with Giorgione’s historical contribution as the research target, the system of Giorgione painting language, painting style of titian, tintoretto, veronese and others. Custave Klimt is an artist who can absorb the essence of foreign artistic culture and blend it into his painting works, which is enriched with his personal stylish spirits. He drew many elements of traditional Chinese art in his painting works, however, it’s not a simple move of blindly copying. There was a choice of absorption, integration, which made perfect fusion of Eastern and Western artistic culturereflectedinhisworks.All this gave his painting works a artistic spirit beyond the " imitation of nature", and creates a brand-new art figure. Klimt’s style of Chinese art in the form of unique, visually simpler than a classical painting, but is actually more complicated, and thus derive a more complex visual field, which is further from form and content of freed result is inevitable artistic language highly purified, resulting in open, boundless possibilities and more expressive images of methods.If we want to study Klimt’s reference from traditional Chinese art elements, first of all we must get to know these elements. Due to the profound traditional Chinese culture, a variety of art elements embodies the essence of our nation, and penetrates through the shape, composition, and color being. This article will point out some elements which are of more obvious features and which are related to the core theme, and then make a conclusion. This paper also will specifically discuss the reference of traditional Chinese art elements from two aspects—content and pattern of manifestation, especially from Klimt’s painting works. This will help us to understand the impact of the traditional Chinese art elements in Klimt’s paintings, and the exchange of East and West in the late19th and early20th century. What’s more, it will help us to understand or even to solve the current problems which our national traditional art’s inheritance and development are facing.
