A Report On Translation Of Specifications For Architectural Works Of The ROSHA Residence Angola

In recent years, with the deeping of the reform and opening up, the relationshipbetween China and other countries is much closer, and international cooperationsbetween them are becoming more and more frequent, especially in the field ofarchitectural works. The translation of architectural works is a bridge of two cultures.It plays an important role in architecture, science and technology and economic life ofboth China and foreign countries, therefore the study of architectural engineeringtranslation is very necessary.This report is based on the translation of Specifications for Architectural Worksof the ROSHA Residence Angola (Section5—Specifications for Aluminium andGlazing). By discussing three types of problems encountering in the process oftranslation and providing the according solutions, the author has deepened theprofessional construction knowledge, understood the translation skills, and tried toprovide reference for later study to solve the same kind problems.This translation report consists of three parts: Chapter One introduces thebackground of the translation task and the client, and then focuses on the translationprocess from aspects of preparation, the concerate translation process andpost-translation modification.The second chapter lists out three kinds of problems（the translation of architectural vocabularies, long and complicated sentence, passivesentence）the author has came up with, also according solutions are given. The lastchapter is a summary for the translation practice from aspects of translationexperience and implications for future study.
