Longxing Temple in Zhengding, which is known as the Giant Buddhist Temple, was builtin Sui Dynasty with the name of Long Cang Temple. It was called Long Xing Temple (Longmeans Dragon) in Song Dynasty, Yuan Dynasty and Ming Dynasty, and then Long XingTemple (Long means prosperity). In Song Dynasty, a period in which Song and Liaoconfronted with each other, Zhengding was called “Zhen Zhou” and is of great significancefor military affairs in Song Dynasty. As the foundation of strategy area, it has deep roots withSong’s replacement of Zhou. Song Taizu (the first emperor in Song Dynasty) also believesthat Buddhism has a close relationship with the rise and fall of a country. This is theprominent place about the first chapter.Giant Buddhist Temple was rebuilt in the early SongDynasty.Giant Buddhist Temple was rebuilt in the early Song Dynasty. It also illustrates the development of Buddhism atmosphere in definitequantity and definite Zen Buddhist temple in Zhengding.The main Buddha, Thousand-arm and Thousand-eye Guan Yin, was enshrined in thePavilion of Great Mercy. Since the Song Dynasty, many beautiful stories about Guan Yin havespread, and with Iron Lion of Cangzhou, Dingzhou Tower, and ZhaoZhou Bridge, formed the"Four Treasures of Hebei". By the third chapter discusses the legend of the BuddhaAvalokitesvara Temple and recast’s simple for research, so that readers of the temple knownas Avalokitesvara has a more clear understanding. In Northern Song Dynasty, the great Buddhists such as Master Shouqian, Monk Yiwenand Monk Qiongfa, all made a significant contribution to the temple, which, as a result,spread Vijbana-vada and tsema in Zhengding.
