Application Of Transparent Resin In The Creative Process Of Pottery

Currently, the pottery industry cries for a reform and innovation as thedaily-increasing aesthetic and the constant changing art market. In the case of solopottery, since the narrow limitation both existed in the material itself and the pattern ofmanifestation that it is an emerging tendency in pottery art that combining new materialsinto it. TR (Transparent Resin), a burgeoning material, has replaced the place of Glassmaterial in many different aspects, as its outstanding transparency and simple rapidprototyping. The application of TR has diversified the pottery art, not merely in its formor modeling, but also the decoration and space.This paper is about the possibility of application of new materials in pottery art,including a brief of character and prototyping of different kinds of TR, and at meantime,demonstrated the inevitability of combing new materials into the creative process ofpottery. What my paper has demonstrate, to some extent, a guide of the designer in thisarea as well as a promoter of the old pottery art industry.
