"Tornado", in the culture circles of Taiwan and also global Chinese, is a specialterm. The owner of this special term—Lung Ying-tai, who interpreted an intellectualwith Confucian thoughts actively participates in all kinds of social activities. Being ascholar and a writer, she has also made tremendous achievements when she twiceserved as a government official. Besides, she is a literary fighter who hascompassionate feelings, and fights for the civil rights with Western Enlightenment.Simultaneously, she is a daughter, and a mother, her deep missing for parents, hervery patient education of children, her words is very touching alongside with itsunique delicate female characteristic.Since the "Tornado" in the1980’s, it has been more than20years history of theresearch of Long Ying-tai. The direction of this research starts from the point ofaesthetical perspective, to find where the aesthetic meanings of Long Ying-tai’s proseas a whole. Meanwhile, this research will also conduct a systematically sorting of theaesthetic pursuit embodied from Long Ying-tai’s prose. Based upon the aboveresearches, a much broader perspective will be used to discover the ideologicalcontent from her essays.The main chapters of this paper are as follows. As Lung Ying-tai’s prose exhibiteddistinctive characteristics in different periods of aesthetic pursuit, this paper willfirstly examine and explain its aesthetic pursuit and analyze the background as well.Secondly, from the aesthetical perspective of prose, this paper will explore theaesthetic pursuit of prose by Lung Ying-tai in the areas of language, rhetoric, stylistics,and her thoughts. Finally, this paper will explore and conclude the significance ofprose’s intrinsic thought value in modern literature and society.Under nowadays global trend, Lung Ying-tai, who has multiple identities, combingboth Chinese and Western cultures and thoughts, showing increasingly diversity incultural values and moreover idealism in philosophy of life in her work, it is not onlythe research aesthetic pursuit of her prose, but also the core meanings of the article.
