The marriage customs in Yi People is so distinctive, covering the Yi language, folk custom, literature, religion, the connotation of the common law, etc. The ideas, habits, behavior in relation to Yi’s marriage are reflected in all aspects of Yi’s social life, affecting children’s physical and mental health, education, values, outlook on life and so on..The famous scholar Fei Yutong said:"marriage is more cultural communication than a biological mate." Marriage custom mirrors connotation of cultural anthropology, the outlook on life, values, religious beliefs, moral quality, culture, education in the same nationality include; also reflects the public psychology of group identity. Therefore it can be regarded as not only an ideological folk, but also a kind of tangible material folk custom. Probing into Yi’s marriage culture and its influence on children’s growth, through which the younger generation will have a better understanding of the Yi nationality traditional culture, promote the good aspects,set up the national self-confidence and pride, it is also a modern multicultural impacted by the excellent cultural protection demands of ethnic minorities; Abandon, abolish the unhealthy aspects hurting people’s body and mind health, Meanwhile we can perfect the marriage system through pouring into more times, progressive, scientific content, to yi’s basic education development, children’s healthy growth and build national integration of the socialist harmonious society is of positive significance, also is the reality of the current national development needs.This paper consists of five parts:The introduction, the first part, discusses the purpose of research, lists the related researches both at home and abroad, defines the core concepts, and puts forward the research ideas and methods.The second part presents a brief description of Yi marriage custom culture background from the history points, and introduces profiles of the research destination Luoyi Town.
