Many contradictions between tour guides and tourists in our country is due to the fierce competitions between travel agencies and hence there is no other choice but to compete by offering low biding price to tour groups. This leads to the phenomenon that the travel agencies have to lower the costs of tour guiding and thus the tour guides have to rely on earning kickbacks from tourism consumption. Author of this paper identified the components of tour guides’income, by referring to the existing income structure data of Chinese tour guides and further research, and based on the laws and regulations of our country. To be specific, fixed wages is hourly wages; subsides for tour guiding is piece-rate wages and the income of principal-agent contract; rebate and commission can be classified as illegal commercial bribery; tips is grants. In the end, this dissertation discussed some ideas about how to standardized the income of tour guides in our country, mainly includes to match the income with tour guides’rank, and by using contract-tip as a transition, aimed at to legalize and enhance the transparence of rebate and commission, in order to encourage reasonable competition between travel agencies.
