Research On Deng Xiaoping’s Social Construction Ideology

As the chief designer of the reform, opening-up and modernization drive of socialism with Chinese characteristics, Deng Xiaoping did not put forward the concept of the social development focusing on ensuring and improving people’s livelihood directly, however, his in-depth and comprehensive elaboration of the economy-politics-culture-in-one social construction ideology contains a great number of ideas on social development emphasizing the livelihood of people, which deepen the insights into the laws of socialist construction and the ruling laws for the Chinese Communist Party, paving the way for the proposal of the social construction thought which focuses on the security and improvement of people’s livelihood. Therefore, the analyses on Deng Xiaoping’s social construction ideology have both theoretical and practical significance in the further researches on Deng Xiaoping theories and the social construction theory with Chinese socialism as well as the further development of socialist construction with Chinese characteristics.This thesis conducts a research on Deng Xiaoping’s social construction ideology, including five parts:The first part presents the theoretical basis of Deng Xiaoping’s social construction ideology which is composed of Marx, Engels, Lenin and Mao Zedong’s social construction thought.The second part deals with the historical conditions for the formation of Deng Xiaoping’s social construction ideology, including the tremendous change with the reform and opening, the historical requirement of eliminating poverty and solving food and clothing problems, and Deng Xiaoping’s subjective effect.The third part elaborates Deng Xiaoping’s social construction ideology from such perspectives as giving priority to the development of education, fostering qualified talents for social development, practicing family planning, improving the population quality, solving the employment, social security as well as food and clothing problems, vigorously promoting the sports industry and health professions.The fourth part describes the attributes of Deng Xiaoping’s social construction ideology, which can be summarized as hereditability, contemporaneity, expansibility and systematicness.The last part expounds the contemporary value of Deng Xiaoping’s social construction ideology.
