Whether we can understand and grasp of the major social contradictions determined the party’s center of gravity and the fundamental task of socialism, which is related to the major event of the future and destiny of socialism. Since the founding of the communist party of china, several generations leaders of the communist party of China represented by Mao Zedong explore social main contradiction hardly. During this period, there are both successful experience and profound lesson, eventually we can understand and judge the main contradiction of Chinese society correctly. In the history, if we can understand and judge the social principal contradictions, China’s socialist revolution, construction, reform develop, conversely, it twisted and turned, stagnation, even fall back. In contemporary China, our party should be based on the primary stage of socialism’s basic national conditions. After the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee, the communist party of China hade gradually established a correct understanding and judgment on the principal contradiction, and firmly grasped the main social contradiction to resolve various social contradictions, develop social productivity, and made brilliant achievements in30years of reform and opening up.In the third part, I have reviewed the hard exploration about the social principal contradictions since the founding of the communist party of China. Learning form history, we can enlighten the future, avoid detours, and develop the socialism with Chinese characteristics better.In the fourth part, I have discussed the reality significance about the scientific judgment and deal with the social principal contradictions, namely, the Communist Party of China can judge and deal with social principal contradictions correctly, the focus of the Party’s work, basic line, and the socialist fundamental task to correctly determine the success or failure of the modernization of the state and social harmony and stability are of great significance.In the fifth part, I have examined some new situation and new problems of the principal contradiction of the contemporary society, and continuously deepened the understanding and thinking of the principal contradiction of society, and expanded the research and exploration of the new era of social connotation of the principal contradiction.
